Your Spiritual Gifts and “What Are You Good At?”

“I ask people, “What are you good at?” …You’ve got to know what you’re good at because these are the cards you bring to the party.  In other words, you need a sense of who you are and where you are going.” — Larry Bossidy

When God created you, as the popular phrase goes “God didn’t make no junk.”  All people have gifts despite their handicaps, emotional baggage, and their test scores in school.  However, many people never allow themselves to find out those things we are best at because of fear of failure.  Thus, if you think you can’t do something, the odds you never will.

Wooden Cross (roberlan)Mentally focusing to do our best is not as easy as it seems.   Until we can reach clean our emotional issues we will not only be working against ourselves but, ultimately God Himself.  When our mind is at peace we can perform our best at sports, school, and all other living activities we encounter in our lives.

No Basketball July 14th

We will be taking a break from basketball next week.  Please join us on Tuesday, July 21st as summer pick-up basketball resumes!

Basketball Moved to Tuesdays!

Our summer pick-up basketball will now be held on Tuesday evenings from 7-8:30pm instead of Mondays for the rest of the summer.  We meet at the Novi Christian Community Center at the corner of Taft and 11 Mile Rd.  Everyone 16 years of age and older are welcome to join and play.  See you there!

Christian Mentoring

What is a mentor?  A mentor is someone who is experienced and knowledgeable with good character who shares information with a person who is less experienced so that person can have greater skills and success.  To be a good mentor one must:

1). Communicate well so that information is effectively passed on

2). Be relational so that a bond exists between the teacher and student

3). Have expertise that is worthy of teaching

4)  A person who is an encourager and inspires others to do their best

5)  Leads by example
