What It’s All About: Developing the Character of Christ

autumn leaves road (viima)Galatians 6:1-10

When you read the Bible you will find a reoccurring theme:  love and obey the Lord.    It is one thing to declare yourself for the Lord with your mouth and yet another to think and behave so all that you do reflects His character.

How can we instruct or encourage others to do what is right in the Lord’s eyes when we ourselves continue to sin?  People are watching.  The best way to lead others is not with words but with the faithful actions of a believer who is striving for spiritual maturity.

Being in the majority in our society tends to say a great deal.  The more people that watch, attend, or agree on something the more pressure there seems to be to conform to what is viewed then as the most “popular” place or philosophy of the day.
Popularity in public opinion doesn’t necessarily mean the best informed or the wisest choice.  Rather, it means that many people believe or act in a similar manner.

Bearing False Witness

Know that what comes out of our own mouths says a great deal on who we are as people and about our faith.  Many people say things to hurt others, to exact revenge, or to destroy an enemy.  To accomplish this evil scheme people not only tell facts about another individual, but embellish their tale with various amounts of lies.
