Jesus: When Death is the Beginning

Apr 3rd, 2010 by Web Team | 0

Heart ScripturePsalm 23 (p.880), Romans 6:20-23 (p.1784), and 1 Cor. 15:12-34 (p.1823)

Most people would probably say that the thing they fear the most is their own death.  And, if it’s not their own death, it’s someone who they love deeply about dying.

To the rational side of us, once our hearts stop its “game over” and the grand novel of our existence is fully complete.

However, on the spiritual side, for those who believe in the resurrection of our Lord and Savior Christ Jesus, the game isn’t over and we find out that the grand novel of our life has hardly begun!

If Jesus truly died and arose from the dead, then death isn’t what we think it is.  It’s not an end to anything but only a temporary way-station to yet another place within our existence.

So, if this is true, then there is a great adventure on the other side of our life.  A portal to something really amazing, where death is not even a word, where life is perfect, and peace, love, and joy abound for everyone.

Jesus wanted everyone to know with all his or her heart that it is He who is waiting with an outstretched hand to great us in the coming Kingdom.  As with this life He will be our guide into a place that is not even imaginable in this life.

Even better, the trip has been already been completely paid for.  There is no need to pack anything, your itinerary is all planned, and all you need to do is put your feet up and enjoy the ride.  Your friend Jesus is at the controls and loves you greatly so this vacation (from the awful hardships of this life) will never end.

There is one thing you need to know however.  Although our Savior has paid for the ticket you still have to claim it at the ticket counter.  All you have to do is go up to the window and say (with all your heart) is “I believe in the Lord Jesus Christ” and the ticket is yours.  Pretty easy, eh?  Oh, by the way, you want to tell others that there is plenty of room for them, too.
