Dreams, Visions, Plans

Sleeping Baby (peasap)Genesis 12:1-9, 17:1-8

Every book that has been written, painting that was painted, building that was built, or business that emerged all started with one dream.  The dream could be doing something that we have never done before, or perhaps no one else either.   Yet, dreams can vaporize unless the person or persons firmly believe the dream can become a reality.

The reality of a dream is envisioning how the form of the concept can become reality.  Dreams are vague and are loosely tied to reality.  Visions, on the other hand, bring our rational thinking processes to “see” with our mind’s eye many possible concepts that might succeed in making the dream come true.  It is during this vision stage that we need to accurately weigh our tangible assets (time, energy, knowledge, money, etc.).

Finally, once a concept is selected a strategy is developed to create the dream/vision.  This plan details who, what, when, where, how, and why of creating a running version of the plan.  The plan needs to have checkpoints to maintain the schedule to completion and quality reviews to make sure the first model truly fulfills the plan/vision/dream.

The Bible is one large book about God’s dreams, visions, and plans for individuals or nations.  As God can see the final outcome of these dreams He doesn’t have to have hope that the dream will turn out perfect.

Let God’s dreams be yours; with His vision we can see into the distance of eternity, and plan our days in this life to serve the Lord, always.
